Microsoft Internet Connection Wizard

Step 15

This finishes setting up the AlaNet Internet service on your computer. You may wish to test out your connection to make sure everything is working properly.

To test your connection:

  • Restart your computer -- even if Windows does not prompts you to do so.

  • Open your favorite Internet software (usually Internet Explorer).

  • A dialog box like the one above should appear.

  • You may need to type your password in (especially if you have the Save Password option grayed out like above).

  • Click on the Connect button.

  • Your modem will dial the AlaNet number that connects your computer to the Internet (usually your modem will make strange noises -- this is a good thing).
